Pace Hotel Room – 2 Beds

The room was exactly as what we pictured online, with a nice wall colour. The walking space around the beds was not too great though, but sufficient enough for us to open our luggage.

The beds were, one double-bed which three of us squeezed into and one single bed which Vin slept in. They were super comfy and we had a good night’s rest after a long day out.

Pace Hotel – Amenities

There was a desk along the length of the wall beside the door and the two double-beds. A mini fridge was placed underneath the table, so we could put our cold drinks. WiFi was available and I could easily upload photos using a VPN.

Pace Hotel Room – Bathroom

We checked out the bathroom immediately right after entering, for it was supposed to be huge. Indeed, there was a nice huge bathtub on one end and a shower/toilet bowl on the other. There were two wash basins on a long counter, suitable for two people to use. This way, we did not need to wait long for each other to finish! This is why this room is a “family” room and it was the first time we actually stayed in a room with the bathroom as long as the length of the room!

View From Our Room

There was not much of a view from our room but we were out for the whole day anyway so we barely looked out.

Pace Hotel Service

The service was good when we checked in. As it was a Taiwanese-owned hotel, the majority of the staff seemed to be from Taiwan too, judging from their accent.

We had booked the room through booking.com and didn’t realise the room did not come with breakfast. The hotel staff proceeded to include breakfast and waived the charges for us because there weren’t many guests for particular days (weekday) we were there.

Laundry Service

There was even a laundry room with free laundry service. We didn’t use it however since we were rushing to attractions daily and tired by the end of the day.

Breakfast

Stepping into the dining room early in the morning, I was surprised by the decor of it and the nice arrangement of food. It lifts up one’s spirits even before we try anything! In fact, I found the entire hotel nicely decorated with artistic walls and spaces. To a person who enjoys looking at beautiful places, this hotel gave me a welcoming feeling.

The buffet spread wasn’t a lot since this was small hotel but sufficient enough. However, they were mostly Taiwanese Chinese style food, so people who prefer Western might not like it. This suits me fine because I can’t eat Western style breakfast (wheat/gluten).

Accessibility to Suzhou Attractions

We chose here partly due to the proximity to a MTR station, in case we couldn’t get a taxi. It is also an 8-minute drive to the Master of the Nets Garden, though we didn’t have time to visit it.

Route to Panmen Scenic Area

Our objective were the Ruiguang Pagoda inside the Panmen Scenic gardens, which we could walk to, and the Lingering Garden which is about 15 minutes’ car ride away.

Amenities Nearby

It was also super convenient to have a Family Mart just downstairs for us to purchase snacks, heated bentos, hot food and drinks. We kept going in there to buy foodstuff.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay there in Pace Hotel and would recommend it to fellow travelers.
